Welcome to Reality
Being a teenage boy, I get hungry a lot. I am blessed with youth, and use that to have fun playing sports, working hard, or just working up an appetite. And as many times as I tell myself “I’m Starving!”, I’m never too far from a fridge. Truth is, the saying ” I’m starving” is way over used. Most of us have never experienced a real idea of hunger. A mindset of not knowing where our next meal will come from is unheard of for most of us. Sadly, some of us do know hunger. According to FeedAmerica.org, 14% of American households were food insecure. That’s 17.4 million households, and that’s unacceptable. It’s even worse in Asia, where 525.6 million people starve. Seventy-five percent of the world’s poorest countries are located in Africa. But these statistics aren’t just scary, they’re reality. In these blogs, I’ll get into how hunger affects someone’s body, the debate of is it production or distributing food, talk about a man who saved a billion lives, talk about short term and long term solutions, and finally find the ultimate solution to starvation.
