What is Starvation?
According to Webster’s Dictionary, starvation is ” suffering or death caused by having nothing to eat or not enough to eat : the condition of someone who is starving”. That’s scary thinking there are little children dying everyday because they can’t get a proper meal. In 2010, an estimated 7.6 million children — more than 20,000 a day died. Poor nutrition plays a role in at least half of these deaths. For the first time in history, over 1.02 billion people do not have enough to eat. That’s one sixth of humanity – more than the population of the United States, Canada and the Europe combined. These statistics total to a 13.5% of our world being undernourished. We can not have these things going on, as we watch go by. We have to find solutions.
